The Guidelines on Criteria and Standards contains guidelines on
learning outcomes, course design and other
important criteria in developing the curriculum for a course of study. The criteria and standard in the Guidelines
refer to the specific criteria of the courses of study in five fields, which are:

criteria and standards are not absolute and prescriptive. Institutions of higher learning
should use it as a guideline for developing the curricula in their courses of study.
As such, this guideline will ensure that there is room for creativity and innovation to suit the objectives of the course of study
and the institution’s mission.
